The company was founded in 1969 by Bernd Freier, who for the moment is the president of the company. From the beginning of the suppliers were not able to supply the quantities needed for retailers. Therefore, in 1974 Bern Freier decided to travel to India to negotiate directly with suppliers of textiles, including samy gaining independence from wholesalers.
In 1998 he opened the first retail store outside of Germany. This was followed in shops in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and other European countries. S.Oliver has become the leading fashion company in a few years, offering a range of fashion and lifestyle for all ages.
Currently there are three segments of lifestyle brand s.Oliver, all targeted to different types of buyers. s.Oliver Casual is the largest segment of the company, will focus on the ladies and gentlemen of the free style. QS by s.Oliver is addressed to teenagers, while s.Oliver Selection refers to a more sophisticated audience. In addition to these three elements s.Oliver also
additional lines of products such as underwear and accessories.
